5 Weeks

Working up to week 5 was...not my favorite week.  We had a little bit of a scare with some spotting and some inconclusive test results.  Apparently my HCG levels didn't quite double the first time around (twenty something to 58) so I had to get a another test...everything turned out fine, my HCG levels more than doubled the next time around so that was good.  It was still really nerve-wracking though, especially since the doctor's office FORGOT to call me with my test results TWICE so I had to wait a whole extra day BOTH TIMES!  Not appreciated.  Jacob and I were relieved that everything turned out to be normal though and had a total blast telling his family!  I started the video a little late, but we told them that I had been crafting that weekend and wanted to show them what I made. Right before the camera turned on Luke asked if I got the idea from Pinterest hahah...he knows what's up.

This is the chalkboard we showed them in the video.  Baby J: coming to a cradle near you, Dec. 24!!
I'm a little behind on posting too, so here is the chalkboard for this week!! Baby J is the size of an orange seed!  My tiny little baby!!  You may be asking, "why are you wearing such a loose shirt?  Shouldn't you be showing off your baby bump?"  First of all, weren't you just listening? My baby is only the size of an orange seed.  My womb isn't much bigger. Second of all, the loose shirt is necessary because I have not been able to go to the bathroom for days and my stomach is huge.  Pregnancy is awesome.  Bring on the prune juice.

How far along? 5 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Probably a million pounds
Maternity clothes? Not yet

Sleep:  Naps galore!  It's like college all over again, except that I also go to bed at 8 each night haha
Best moment this week: Telling Jacob's family! I'm so excited that they were ALL there for the announcement (except Jill, but we texted her right after).  It was great, and I'm SO happy they know!!

Miss Anything? Not really, although Jacob did have a glass of wine this week and it smelled mm mmm mmm!! I was a little jealous!
Movement: Nope
Food cravings: Not really
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really.  Actually, right now everything is tasting EXTRA good.  This could be trouble.
Have you started to show yet: You mean besides my enormously bloated belly? Nope.
Gender Prediction: When we were worried about my HCG levels, I did a lot of reading on the internet (which was unwise, granted) and I read that if the baby is a boy, the levels are usually lower so...this week I am predicting it's a boy!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy!
Looking forward to: Testing is over and we're taking a trip to Austin this weekend to see our friends up there!  Can't wait!

4 Weeks

Ahhh the agony!  Being pregnant and not being able to tell people for another 2 months is torture!  Start taking bets on how long our secrecy will actually last haha...although, I guess it's not a total secret anymore. We told my family this past weekend.  It was my mom's birthday and the siblings all pitched in to buy her a pasta maker.  We told her we wanted to Google Hangout after she opened it so we could see her reaction, but in reality we wanted to share our big news. I got it on video because I knew I would want to remember that moment. So glad I did!! Their faces crack me up!

How far along? 4 weeks...my baby is the size of a poppyseed!
Total weight gain/loss: Not yet
Maternity clothes? No, but I started browsing online for some cute holiday maternity clothes, just for fun :)

Sleep:  I've been so tired that sleeping has been no problem!  Although, Jacob told me I've been tossing in my sleep a lot, so that's new
Best moment this week: Definitely telling my family!  When I told my older sister on FaceTime, the room instantly started to spin behind her because she was started jumping around the room!  We jumped in circles and screamed together for about 3 minutes... #sisterfriends #husbandsthinkwe'renuts.  Telling the rest of my family was great...my parents' faces when we told them were pretty fantastic, my little sister was so happy for us and I heard that my brother flipped his lid when they told him!  So fun to share the joy!

Miss Anything? Uh, yeah. Not worrying every 5 seconds that I'm going to do something to dislodge the baby.  I miss that peace of mind haha
Movement: Nope
Food cravings: I did have a craving for the queso from Alamo Cafe this weekend, but I don't think that had anything to do with the baby :)
Anything making you queasy or sick: No, although I have had some random waves of nausea here and there.
Have you started to show yet: Nope
Gender Prediction: Actually, I got freaked out reading an article saying that if you're having signs of pregnancy really early on, it means stronger hormones which COULD mean twins.  I made the mistake of mentioning this to Jacob and he won't stop bringing it up now! Haha he is WAY too excited about that idea.
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Mostly happy, MUCH less weepy! Haha

Looking forward to: Telling Jacob's family!  We couldn't coordinate an all-family Skype call this weekend, so we're rescheduling to maybe Thursday or Friday. I'm so excited!!!

The Marcottes are expecting!!

How far along? 3 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Yes oh...because of the baby? Then, no.
Maternity clothes? A pair of yoga pants I bought at Target.  I've owned these for two years though, so I hardly think it counts...

Sleep: Sleeping great
Best moment this week: Seeing the word "Pregnant" pop up on my pee stick!  Also, [gentlemen, tune out] my boobs have been growing a ton over the past two weeks, which was my first tip that I might be preggers.  I sort of expected this to happen about 10 years ago during puberty, but hey.  Better late than never.

Miss Anything? COFFEE!  I can't imagine getting through the next two months of teaching 8th grade without it...oy.
Movement: No
Food cravings: Actually, just the opposite.  Usually I'm always craving something, but my appetite has kind of fizzled out over the past week.  I'm not nauseous, it's just that nothing jumps out as sounding particularly tasty.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nada
Have you started to show yet: Nope
Gender Prediction: I'm already breaking out so...girl.  Apparently "girls steal your beauty" or something?
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: One happy camper, although I did burst into tears 7 different times this morning while reading The Help.
Looking forward to: Telling my family!!!
